I snurched this from Reni.  Love the idea of it.  Um.  How do I unbold or unitalicize?

The BBC allegedly believes most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here:

Ship Meme

  • May. 28th, 2009 at 11:55 AM

Saw this from Merry and Krissie.  And, since I don't watch too much tv, we'll see if I have 15 ships.  In no particular order.

1. Sam/Jack (SG-1)
2. Daniel/Vala (SG-1)
3. Han/Leia (Star Wars)
4. Jean-Luc/Guinan (ST:TNG)
5. Will/Deanna (ST:TNG)
6. Duncan/Tessa (HIghlander)
7. Ronon/Jennifer (SGA)
8. Rodney/Laura (SGA)
9 Dr/Rose (Doctor Who)
10. Dr/RiverSong (Doctor Who)
11. Warrick/Catherine (CSI)
12. Nick/Mandy (CSI)
13. Tony/Ziva (NCIS)
14. Tim/Abby (NCIS)
15. Jack/S.A.R.A.H (EUReKA)

And that's not all of them!  Who knew I watched so much tv?  I also see love everywhere I go.   I'm such a hopeless romantic!

The BSedness of online personality tests

  • May. 17th, 2009 at 8:33 PM

I just spent a fun ten minutes doing all of the personality tests that one of my LJ friends - Poundpuppy - had posted.  Amazingly, every single one of them was way off the mark.  Am I a dreamer or realist?  Well, I think I'm a realistic dreamer.  I love to see the possibilities.  However, I know I'm just one unimportant person.

What element was I born into?  Was that the one where all I did was give my birth year?  Yeah.  I believe that!

Am I snow or rain?  Out of curiosity, and because sometimes both answers to one question apply, I did it with both answers.  a the first time and b the second.  That one little change switched the answer.

And finally, what taste am I?  Just because I'm an insular person,  I don't socialize much and am aware that doesn't make me "popular" - God I hate that word - I'm a Umm.  it wasn't polarizing but shoot!  I forgot the word.  Sorry, guys.  Most times, I'm entirely sure that, that with few exceptions,  people will forget about me in short order and never miss me.  I know people who have the enormity of personality that makes people remember them.  I don't have that.  Mine is more of a serene personality.  Sunny even.  But not that.

Some suggested that I was still trying to find myself?  Sorry.  That is one thing I know.  Me.

I'm melting!

  • May. 9th, 2009 at 5:37 PM

For the love of God!  How hot is it supposed to get this year?  We never really had a winter.  *waves to friends who did*  And I found out that yesterdays high was 102 degrees F.  Did no one tell God that lillies (me) are not desert plants?  I am not a cactus!  Melting I tell you!

What Does Your Handbag Say About You?

  • Mar. 28th, 2009 at 2:45 PM

What Your Handbag Says About You
You tend to be relaxed but alert. You keep your eye out for anything unusual.

You are a low maintenance person. You can adapt to a variety of situations.

You are open and comfortable with who you are. You don't hide anything.

You are an organized and together person. You are competent and successful.

You are an outgoing and expressive person. You always speak your mind, and you're very approachable.

You are a very unique and special person. There's no one else who is anything like you.
Got the link off of Krissie.  Now that I have my computer back and everything.

Well, I'm not taking a chance trying to figure out how to live cut this.  That whole prospect is still kinda hit and miss.  Scary how mostly accurate it is.

Hey, LJ gurus out there, how do I change that frog \/ down there to something else?

FCOL!!

For Crying out Loud!!  That last post?  I soo thought I had it in a LJ cut.  I really don't know what I did wrong, and I don't have a clue how to fix it!

The Mad Cap Antics of a Fangurl )

Dear PTB,
You might recall my recent play for confirmation of Sam and Jack. They need love! We fans need love! Please don't forget to hand out some love to Daniel and Vala while you're at it. Remember, too, Cam and Teal'c - seperatly please - their fans love them so much. I just know that you love us fans as much as you love the characters you created.

Forever Fan,
Everlovin'

That was how her summer went. She lived her life. Continued to watch her favorite show. And when the new Stargate SG-1 movie came out, all of her fangurl dreams came true!

The Stargate Atlantis season 5, however, had all of the wrong people being in love with each other. This required serious help. More letter to TPTB wouldn't work. For crying out loud, Kanaan was still around. Seriously, Teyla should never have hooked up with him to begin with! Everyone konws that Teyla should be with John. And the whole McKeller thing! Wow! That was just wrong from start to finish! Rodney belonged with Cadman! Whoelse could withstand all of that time in Rodney's head! And Jenn waws really in love wiht Ronon! And anybody could see that Ronon loved her back. As the season moved along, the whole relationship - Ronon and Jenn's just seemed to fall apart in favor of McKeller and Brainstorm???

Well as wonderfully as tptb had done with SG-1, they sucked! for Atlantis! Time to take the question of the ships to a higher power! But who? Well the week wore on and Everlovin was doing some Christmas preshopping shopping. She turned the corner and saw a looong line of children waiting to see Santa! Perfect! No, she didnt' believe in Santa, but rather the Spirit of Christmas.

Christmas was a time for miracles wasn't it? So she got in line. No, she wasn't going to sit on his lap - that's just wierd! She just had to say out loud what she wanted to work the Christmas miracle.

Anyways, it was finally her turn in line and she had her speech all ready. "Hi Santa!" she didn't want to disillusion some poor kid in line behind her. "I wanted to say that I believe in Christmas miracles and I'm a scifi fangurl." Santa rolled his eyes there. "So here's where I need the Christmas miracle. The powers that be- the writers and producers - of StargateAtlantis have completely screwed up all of the relationships on the show. I really believe it would take that miracle to get Ronon and Jenn together. John and Teyla, Rodney and Laura too. Because really, the powers that be can't handle relationships on this show. I just needed to say it so whoever works the miracles to know what the fans wanted."

Everlovin walked out of the store feeling positive. The Spirit of Christmas would prevail. She believed so much she wished on a star every night.

And sure enough. Two weeks later, Identity was aired giving the Ronon/Jenn shippers all sorts of wonderfully shippy moments.

The holidays

  • Dec. 29th, 2008 at 10:27 AM

They're over!  Thank God!  After spending enough to pay three McDonald's employees for a week, wrapping presents day in and day out, going to partie.  It's DONE!!

On the plus side, I went to a midnight Christmas Eve service for the first time in ages!  I got to spend the actual holiday with all of the family!  It was simply wonderful!

Then we had to take the tent down in 50 mile per hour winds!  THAT was fun!  NOT!

All in all, I'm just glad I can sleep in for a few mornings.

Still trying out things!

  • Dec. 23rd, 2008 at 10:21 PM

Ooh, I hope this works.  I'm about ready to pull out my hair with my computer!!
